The Uncivilized Quest

Still new, I’m sure editing will occur.

The Yippie Yuppie sings from on high:

“Information negation is the world in which I die

I thusly deny the spirit of Earthly life

While suppressing without rest

Her species’ births given in what used to be zest

Strangle hood and control is the motto at hand

As we go to fondle and foster endless screaming wars

Throughout this world’s foreign lands.

We thusly and mustedly profess without rest

That we are meant to conquer lands and sands

With supernatural zing and zest.

For whom do we toil? For what end do we labor?

With our hearts so deeply torn and worn

…have we truly been advised and warned?

Thusly, wisely a wide-eyed rebellious hands-in-pants poetic rocker

Simply refuses to put his ass and head into an electronic socket!

While remaining a devoted lover of Mother Nature’s land

He seeks a healthy world to be reborn once again.

Sophia’s Web: A Book Soon to be Published

Sophia’s Web is a book that will hopefully be published soon, probably through Amazon.  Yes, it will be on Kindle as well as having a hard copy to it.  So, part of this blog (and I know this one is rough, just trying to get the knack of working with WordPress…..I’m not a computer whiz) is about announcing progress in publication as well as hopefully enlisting your support in various ways, including advice.

For example, I am contemplating subtitles for the book.  Some of the ones I am contemplating are as follows:

Sophia’s Web: Reclaiming Wisdom and Understanding for a Peaceful World

Sophia’s Web: Peace Through Understanding the Diverse Unity of the World

Sophia’s Web: Fostering Peace, Love and Understanding in a Troubled World

Sophia’s Web: Embracing Religion, Science and Ourselves (this one refers a LOT to my old version, not good)

Sophia’s Web: The Marriage of Religion, Science and the World (this one comes up with a lot of evolution themes)

(The Diverse Unity of Religion, Science and Ourselves? Or, the Human Race instead of ourselves?)

Sophia’s Web: Embracing the World’s Unity in Diversity (did a check, a few came up)

Sophia’s Web: Fostering a World of Peace, Love and Understanding

Sophia’s Web: Transitioning a War Torn Planet into Peace, (or just peace) Love and Understanding

Sophia’s Web: A Loving Embrace of Earth’s Religions, Sciences, Philosophies and People

Sophia’s Web: Healing a Battle Torn Planet by Love and Understanding

Sophia’s Web: Reclaiming the Nature of Self, Planet and Universe

Sophia’s Web: The Unity and Diversity of Self, Nature and God

Sophia’s Web: The Unified Diversity of Self, Nature and God

Sophia’s Web: The Unified Diversity of Religion, Nature and Self

Sophia’s Web: The Unity and Diversity of Religion, Self and Nature

Sophia’s Web: Embracing All People and the Planet Earth

Sophia’s Web: Fostering Universal Love, Peace and Understanding upon a Traumatized Planet

Sophia’s Web: Healing the Great Divide Among Nations, Peoples and Religions

Sophia’s Web: Healing the Planet by Understanding

Sophia’s Web: The Kiss that Healed the World

Sophia’s Web: All for One and One for All

Sophia’s Web: Embracing the Planet Earth

Sophia’s Web: The Wholeness and Holiness of Nature, Humanity and God

Now, I’m not putting these out there just for the hell of it.  I’m asking for feedback.  What grabs your attention?  Consider also what would work for the search engines.  Hey, listen, this isn’t just about sales.  I’m getting older and want to make a difference in the world.  This book has something to say and I want to say it in such a way that it will get to people and inside people.  My work at this point in my life is about future generations.  I care about you and your kids, if you have them.  I’m not one to just brush off future generations saying “Oh, I won’t be around anyway.”  No, I’m a big believer in looking to the 7th generation when making a decision.

I have not yet checked these titles in the search engines, as recommended by a professional regarding these sorts of things.  But, if you want, I would love your feedback on what “grabs” you.  The name Sophia literally means Wisdom, as in the term Philosophy, which means Lover of Wisdom.  In the Greek versions of the Bible, the name of God’s Wisdom and Understanding was Sophia Binah.

In essence, the book goes into personal experiences and dreams and relates these to the various religions.  In essence, the theme of the book is to show a thread of continuity between religion, science and ourselves.  I self-published the book in the early part of this century, maybe even the late 90’s, under the title of “Sophia’s Web: Understanding the Unity and Diversity of Religion, Science and Ourselves.”  I didn’t do a great job at marketing the book, but since then I have come a long way in understanding Sophia and the world. The old book still has an amazon site, so you can read past reviews.  It actually did quite well in reviews.but I lost my financial shirt!

So, now I have a team of people involved in the book and have some wonderful blurbs from some folks that my wife and I have interviewed on our on-line radio show, called Envision This!  The archived list of shows is at:

The show is about interviewing people who are into kindling a just, sustainable and equitable future.

I have had several really good blurbs on this version of Sophia’s Web. Don Oscar, a Peruvian Shaman writes:

In Sophia’s Web: Reclaiming Wholeness in a Divided World, Burl Hall has masterfully articulated a long overdue vision of human evolutionary transformation found reflected within the inherent integrity of Creation itself. This is a book of deep scholarship and heart. It is a purposefully passionate proposal for humanity to once again ‘humanize’ itself by reclaiming Gaian consciousness as our birthright—a birthright inspired by the perennial wisdom of a planetary Goddess culture. It is a work of great merit–I highly recommend it!

don Oscar Miro-Quesada, co-author, Lessons in Courage: Peruvian Shamanic Wisdom for Everyday Life and founder of The Heart of the Healer (THOTH) Foundation

And I have others in line…Anne Baring, one of my favorite authors has also given a thumbs up to the book. Her most recent book is The Dream of the Cosmos: A Quest for the Soul.

So, what say ye?  Any suggestions?

In a past Yahoo group regarding Sophia’s Web, I did a morning meditation that called “Morning Meds.”  If my brain is up to it, I want to start that again.  If I forget due to the Alzheimers, please email me…  Just say, hey, dude, give us an update.

Kidding aside, hope you become active in my blog.  Perhaps we can be the ones to truly foster a new world order….not of the George Bush variety, but of a variety in which we are not ruled by sociopaths but are, instead, ruled by the rule of Love, not Law, nor anything else.  Just Love.
